Fall 2011 Withdrawal Schedule

Withdrawal from the University

To withdraw, you must follow established withdrawal procedures beginning with completion of a withdrawal form available from the office of the dean of your college or graduate department. To obtain a partial refund of fall semester registration charges, you must notify your college or graduate department office of your intent to withdraw no later than 5:00 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2011. No refund is available thereafter.

If you officially withdraw within the refund period, you will receive a pro-rata refund based upon the date on the withdrawal form. Withdrawal effective dates and percent of assessed tuition and refundable fees refunded:

  • August 19, 2011, 100% (cancellation)
  • September 2, 2011, 90%
  • September 9, 2011, 80%
  • September 23, 2011, 70%
  • October 7, 2011, 60%
  • October 14, 2011, 50%
  • October 28, 2011, 40%

Assessed tuition, the Service fee, AFMFA, Library/Information Technology fee, General fee, Collegiate Readership fee, and the Transportation fee are refunded on a pro-rata basis, less a pro-rata administrative fee of $50. The Health Insurance, Health Service, and Cleaner Energy Technology fees are not refundable.

If you withdraw, you continue to be covered by health insurance and are eligible to receive health services (if you paid these fees) until the first day of instruction for the next term. Before a refund is made to you, the University must make a refund to appropriate financial aid programs providing assistance to you. If you are indebted to the University at the time of withdrawal, the amount owed will be deducted from the amount of any refund available.

If you make no payment, and then withdraw from the University, you are liable for the full amount of tuition and fees originally assessed less applicable refunds.

Special refund policies apply to those who withdraw to enter either active duty in the United States armed forces or other approved national defense service.
